Just minutes after the polls closed, NBC News and the Associated Press both projected that Josh Shapiro would be re-elected as Pennsylvania’s Governor. The poll results reflected that early prediction.
Shapiro took the state with 61.6% of the vote as of 10:30 on election night, but it was within a half-hour of the polls closing for the election that his Republican Challenger, State Treasurer Stacy Garrity announced that she had conceded the election and called to congratulate him.
Garrity would win Indiana County with 15,578 votes compared to Shapiro’s 11,791.
All totals are unofficial until they are certified.
