Indiana County election officials say the good weather and some hotly contested races brought out a lot of voters for the 2026 general election.
Unofficial numbers from the county showed that 57.04% of registered voters cast a ballot during the election, including those who voted by mail-in or absentee ballot. County Commissioners Chair Mike Keith said that the sunny, 72-degree day may have played a factor in the high turnout numbers.
Keith said it should be another week until all the polling results become official.
