State police continue to investigate the crash on Route 22 that resulted in one person being airlifted to the hospital on Friday.
Police confirmed a passenger vehicle was going West on Route 22 while the large commercial truck was coming east. For an unknown reason, the passenger vehicle went across the concrete median and collided head-on with the truck. Both vehicles ended up in the S&T Bank parking lot in Resort Plaza, with the truck hitting four parked vehicles. The driver of the passenger vehicle, identified by police as an 18-year-old woman, was flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
All six vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Crews from the State Police Collision Analysis and Accident Reconstruction Specialist team, Motor Carrier Enforcement and Forensic Services Unit assisted the Indiana patrol unit with the investigation. PennDOT, Black Lick and Blairsville fire departments, Citizen’s Ambulance and Indiana County’s Emergency Management Agency also assisted.
