State police have confirmed that one person died in a crash this morning in Center Township.
Indiana County 911 sent the Homer City Fire Department, State Police and Citizen’s Ambulance to the intersection of Route 119 and Lucerne Road at 6:13 AM. State Police Public Information Officer Trooper Cliff Greenfield confirmed that the crash involved a bicyclist and someone driving a pickup truck, and that the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the truck remained on-scene to help with state police and he was taken to IRMC for an evaluation. Greenfield said it’s believed he was not hurt in the crash.
Route 119 North between Tide Road and the Route 422 West Business Exit was closed for about three and a half hours this morning as troopers and other first responders investigated the crash and cleared the scene.
