He’s currently running for re-election as governor, but Josh Shapiro has launched a federal Political Action Committee called “New Path PAC” that would permit him to raise money for a federal election. He’s long been viewed as a potential presidential candidate in 2028.
Shapiro’s campaign says the PAC will help him “provide more direct support” for Democrat candidates in congressional races, including four current challengers to incumbent Republicans. He’s already endorsed all four of those candidates.
The funds raised by his new PAC would be eligible for use in his own run for federal office, unlike money he’s raised for his current re-election bid.
As of today, the election is only seventeen days away. The voter registration deadline is tomorrow and the deadline to request a mail-in ballot s October 27th. Completed mail-in ballots must be received in your county election office by 8 PM on Election Day, November 3rd.
