John Dominick Georgianni, aged 99, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026. Born on May 28, 1927, to the late Nunziato and Mary (Sanno) Giorgianni, John lived a full, vibrant life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a genuine love for people.
A lifelong member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, John was deeply rooted in his faith and community. A true “people person,” he was a friendly and welcoming presence to all. He could often be found sitting on his front porch, warmly greeting anyone walking past, or striking up conversations with friends and strangers alike at the local YMCA. Among his many passions in life, John was an avid fisherman who spent many enjoyable outings with his son John.
John was a dedicated worker who embraced a variety of careers and business adventures throughout his life. His lifelong work ethic began on his family’s farm as a young boy and led to many endeavors—including owning service stations, selling used cars, delivering house coal, delivering medications for Gatti Pharmacy for many years, working at McCreary Tire, and the Indiana Foundry. He eventually concluded his long career driving for Air Ride before retiring at the age of 82. He also served in the United States Army Air Forces.
Above all, John was an amazing father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather who treasured his family. He lived a long, rich life and had the privilege of seeing and experiencing so much across nearly a century.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nunziato and Mary Giorgianni; his brothers, Ross Giorgianni Sr., and Joe Giorgianni; his sisters, Nancy Shuler, and Mary Louis Georgianni; and his nephews, Ross Giorgianni Jr. and Joseph Giorgianni.
John is survived by his loving children, Mary Lou Capone (William) of Indiana, PA, and John N. Georgianni of Indiana, PA; his stepdaughter, Maureen Weber (Gayle) of Ohio; his cherished grandchildren, Shannon Strotman, Matthew Strotman, DJ Strotman, Nicholas Capone, Amanda, and Chris Weber; his many beloved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren: Megan, Ethan, Paige, Asher, Mandy, Harmony, Lane, Vincent, Valen, Aria, Reagan, and Hadleigh; and trusted and devoted friend Nancy Zellman.
The family would also like to thank Debbie, his caregiver from PA Home Life.
