Pennsylvania’s measles outbreak surpassed one-thousand cases on Monday. State health officials say there have been 1,004 measles cases so far this year, making it the largest outbreak in the U.S. in three decades. More than a third of the measles cases in the Commonwealth have been reported in Lancaster County, along with three of Pennsylvania’s five measles-related deaths.
Indiana County saw an increase of six cases over the last week, bringing the total to 20. Jefferson County has 47 cases reported, with Clearfield at 38, Westmoreland and Armstrong Counties had 2 cases each and Cambria County has one case.
