The NCAA Division II football polls will be released today, and IUP, whom coach Paul Tortorella called “true cardiac kids” after Saturday’s double-overtime win over Edinboro, could rise again. The Crimson Hawks were ranked ninth last week in the AFCA Coaches Poll and thirteenth in the D2Football.com poll.
On the field after Saturday’s win, Tortorella breathed a sigh of relief.
The coach said the Crimson Hawks are playing without two starters on the offensive line and two starters in the defensive secondary.
This Saturday, 5-0 IUP will host 3-2 Lock Haven on Homecoming. The Bald Eagles have won their last two games, 24-14 over Gannon and 38-35 over Clarion.
