Thursday night, ten people were honored by the Indiana Area Education Foundation by being inducted into the IHS Hall of Fame.
This marks the first time since 2019 for a new class to be inducted. The event is meant to bridge the gap between the former Wall of Fame at IHS from 2018 and 2019 to the new hall of fame. IAEF president Dane Rombaugh talked about the importance of bringing the hall back.
The event benefited the foundation, which seeks to raise money to promote and enhance educational programs and opportunities not funded within the constraints of the schools. To that end, it was also announced that John J. Kopchick was establishing a $25,000 trust for the district, and challenged those in attendance to match the grant.
Inducted in the 2026 class were:
- Governor John Fisher
- Jack Delaney
- Jim Nance
- Sara Ballantyne
- Senator Patrick Stapleton
- Chris Kuzneski
- Roger Reschini
- Lori Koch
- Wally Stapleton
- Peggy Bomboy
Many of the inductees or their representatives in the 8:00 hour of Indiana in the Morning on Friday in the 8:00 AM hour.
