The Department of Environmental Protection has officially published the notice about a planned public meeting and hearing to be held next month at the Homer-Center High School Auditorium.
The meeting concerns Homer City Generating Station’s application for modifications to the power company’s discharge obligations into Blacklick Creek, which DEP terms a “major amendment.” Representatives of DEP’s Clean Water Program will be there. DEP says the modification would not affect public water supplies.
The public meeting portion of the event on October 14th will be from 5 to 6PM, with the public hearing to follow, ending no later than 7:30. Those who wish to testify at the hearing must contact DEP Special Deputy Secretary Fernando Treviño no later than 24 hours before the event.
