29TH ANNUAL HOODLEBUG FESTIVAL HELD SUNDAY IN HOMER CITY

The rain came to an end just in time for the 29^th annual Hoodlebug Festival in Homer City on Sunday.

Penny Perman with the festival said that it was the “perfect day” for the festival once again.

At the traditional flag-raising ceremony, a moment of silence was held to commemorate the 25^th anniversary of the tragedy of September 11^th, 2001.  This year’s event included a parade themed to America’s 250^th anniversary, and included performances by the Homer-Center Marching Band and the Indiana County Fife and Drum Corps.

Only one change was needed due to the weather.  As there was a lot of rain that came down on Saturday, the duck race was modified to a random draw.

The festival was honored for it’s 29th year with an official proclamation from the Indiana County Commissioners, which was presented by Commissioner Bonni Dunlap at the festival.
