Time is running out for a new contract agreement with the Steelers and Joey Porter, Jr. Porter was back on the practice field yesterday, but he is still without a contract extension that will take him beyond this year. After practice, Porter said he was hopeful that a deal can be reached by Sunday, as the team traditionally does not negotiate contracts during the season. When asked directly about if he will play Saturday, Porter declined to answer.
Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons announced that Cooper Rush will start when the Steelers host the Atlanta Falcons tomorrow afternoon. Tua Tagovailoa was ruled out due to injury. Undrafted rookie Jack Strand will be the backup.
