Former Penguins forward Phil Kessel and his sister, Amanda, who is currently the Penguins’ director of minor league operations and assistant general manager of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, were both elected yesterday to the United States Hockey Hall of Fame, along with former players T.J. Oshie and Ryan Suter and athletic trainer Stan Wong.
Phil Kessel won two Stanley Cups with the Pens, playing four years in Pittsburgh after being acquired in a trade with Toronto in 2015. He also played for Boston, Arizona, and Vegas.
The Penguins yesterday announced that they will begin training camp next Thursday. All practices will be open to the public. The first preseason game is at PPG Paints Arena on September 21st against Buffalo.
