Tuesday night, the White Township Planning Commission denied the final site plan for a proposed “mobile cottage” development.
The proposed “park” would be at 4600 Lucerne Road, and would house 140 units for people working on the Homer City Generation campus. Residents spoke passionately about a number of concerns, including traffic implications, light and noise pollution, and child safety.
Township Manager Chris Anderson says that these comments play a large role in how the commission acts.
Ultimately, the commission decided to deny the plans as they did not have enough information to act. However, The Cartesian Company and Park Group Construction are able to resubmit that plan for approval again.
The commission also gave conditional approval to the final major subdivision at 2199 Oakland Avenue. That approval is contingent upon the Department of Environmental Protection’s approval of the sanitary sewage plan.
