Indiana County’s unemployment rate went down in the month of July.
The Department of Labor and Industry reported that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate went down by two-tenths of a percentage point to 3.5%. In July of 2025, the county’s unemployment rate was 4.8%.
Comparing Indiana County to the surrounding counties, Westmoreland County had the lowest rate at 3.2% Jefferson followed at 3.4%. Then Indiana, then Clearfield and Armstrong Counties are at 3.6%. Cambria had the highest in our region at 4.4%.
The lowest unemployment rate was Montour County at 2.3. The highest was Potter County at 4.7.
The seasonally adjusted labor force, which is the number of people working or looking for work, went up by 100 to 35,900. Employment went up by 200 and unemployment went down by 100.
