A former Westmoreland County priest is accused of stealing nearly 750-thousand dollars.
Police in Florida arrested 69-year-old Gregory Madeya last week. Investigators say Madeya stole over 300-thousand dollars in church funds while working as a priest for the Ukrainian Catholic Church for nearly 10 years.
Officials believe he also stole 250-thousand dollars from his mother after getting access to her accounts.
Madeya was arrested Friday in Florida on charges including theft by unlawful taking and financial exploitation of an older adult or care-dependent person.
