Charles L. Morgan lived a full and vibrant life completing his journey here on earth peacefully at home on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at the age of 91. The son of Julia (Farran) Morgan Vinosky and Stephan Vinosky, he was born, raised, and a life-long resident of Josephine.
Charles was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral, PA. He was employed at Torrance State Hospital and Westinghouse in Blairsville before enlisting in the Army reserves completing his training in Fort Knox, Kentucky and assigned to Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. He returned from the service to find employment at Blairsville Machine Shop then took what would be his career job in the warehouse at Latrobe Steel from December 1961 until retiring in June of 1998. He married Helen Elizabeth Wincek on November 10, 1955 and was married 61 years before her passing in 2017.
Chuck or Chas, as everyone called him, enjoyed golfing and boating in his younger years, spending the weekends at Two Lick Creek or the Conemaugh Dam along with swimming at the Coral reservoir. He had a passion for classic cars which started as far back as high school. He was a devoted and loving father spending most of his time after retirement caring for his handicapped son, going to McDonalds, rides through the country and watching the Pirates and Steelers on T.V.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Sherry (Morgan) Sorg and husband Steve, of Wall, N.J; granddaughter, Kimberly Sorg of Wall, NJ; sisters-in-law, Barbara Clark and Shirley Hodak as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Morgan; sister, Eleanor Griffen; half- brother, Billy Morgan, and his parents.
The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, Blairsville, PA on Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 5-7 PM. Prayers of transfer will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 9:15 AM, prior to a funeral mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral, PA with Fr. John Pavlik officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana, PA with Blairsville Military Honor Guard conducting military services.
