MORE DETAILS RELEASED OF THREATS AGAINST GOV. SHAPIRO, WIFE

Authorities are revealing more details about a recent threat against Governor Josh Shapiro by a Pennsylvania prison inmate.

State Police say SCI Camp Hill inmate Corey Bennett wrote a letter threatening Shapiro and the governor’s residence in Harrisburg and a second letter threatening First Lady Lori Shapiro on a specific date. Troopers say Bennett has ties to the Crips gang and threatened violence “using contacts outside of the prison.”

PSP created a Political Violence Threat Unit earlier this year to combat the rise of threats against Pennsylvania lawmakers.
