The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed forward Ville Koivunen to an eight year contract worth $4 million a year.
Koivunen spent his time last season playing for both the Penguins and their minor league team in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He lead the Baby Pens in assists and was second in points in the 2025-26 season, notching 13 goals and 28 assists in 34 games played. At the NHL level, he had two goals and five assists in 39 games. He was traded to the Penguins from Carolina in March of 2024.
