IUP’s Office of Student Wellness has received a donation as part of the Impact 150 campaign.
The two-year $40,970 grant from the state Liquor Control Board through its Bureau of Alcohol Education’s Reducing Underage Drinking and Dangerous Drinking initiative. The funds will help the office continue the work on reducing underage and high-risk drinking through an evidence-based program and other educational and skill-building events. This will include the school’s Green Dot Bystander Intervention program, which gives community members the tools needed to recognize and respond to high-risk situations. The program has been shown on a national level to prevent multiple forms of interpersonal violence when a critical mass of individuals is engaged as peers in the effort.
The funding is part of IUP’s Impact 150 campaign, which is raising $150 million to honor the University’s 150-year anniversary. This is the largest capital campaign in the history of the school.
