With the new Penguins owners abandoning the Wheeling Nailers in favor of the team they already own, the Florida Everblades, it will be necessary to move players between the two franchises. Yesterday, the Nailers sent the 2025 Penguins third round draft choice, goaltender Gabriel D’Aigle, to the Everblades for defenseman Hunter Sansbury.
D’Aigle is beginning the first year of a three-year entry level contract with the Penguins organization after spending last season with Victoriaville in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, and with Wheeling for three games on an ECHL professional tryout contract.
