The Parkway East is back open.
PennDOT has confirmed the route along I-376 in Pittsburgh was made available for drivers yesterday evening, a week ahead of schedule. The road was closed to allow crews to demolish and replace the Commercial Street Bridge. Thousands of motorists were forced to use detours since the project began on July 10th.
Commercial Street itself is not expected to reopen until next week.
