Westmoreland County Airport Authority officials are in talks with two airline companies to take over passenger service at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport.
The terminal has been without a passenger airline since May when Spirit Airlines closed. After Spirit withdrew, Transportation Security Administration screeners were pulled from the facility, which has limited charter flight service as well. The closure came as the facility is undergoing a 32,000-square foot addition that doubles the size of the terminal.
Officials did not say which companies are currently in talks with the airport, but last week, Westmoreland County Commissioner Doug Chew said that they are getting close to a new deal with a carrier.
