The Parkway East is set to reopen this evening.
PennDOT has confirmed the route along I-376 in Pittsburgh will be available for drivers again later today, a week ahead of schedule. The road was closed to allow crews to demolish and replace the Commercial Street Bridge. Thousands of motorists have been forced to use detours since the project began on July 10th.
Commercial Street itself is not expected to reopen until next week.
