Monday night, the Marion Center School Board approved motions concerning a retaining wall project.
The board gave Young and Associates permission to seek bids for Option 1 of the project to fix the wall, sidewalk and stairs at the High School side of the district’s main campus, along with the extension of sidewalk near the administration office and will make it ADA accessible. Superintendent Clint Weimer talked about another part of the project.
The board also approved a resolution that would allow Weimer to apply for a Public School Facility Improvement Grant to help pay for the project.
Also, the board welcomed Joseph Kisiday as the new representative for Region I, taking over for Victoria Dicken who resigned last month. The board also approved naming Dustin Griffith as the new board vice president.
