IRMC has been recognized by the American Heart Association for its stroke care, earning two “Get With The Guidelines” achievement awards.
The hospital received the Rural Stroke Gold Award and the Stroke Gold Plus Award with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll for following the latest research-based guidelines in treating stroke patients. The American Heart Association says hospitals that consistently use these evidence-based practices can improve recovery, reduce hospital readmissions, and save lives.
Hospital officials say the recognition reflects IRMC’s commitment to providing timely, high-quality stroke care for patients in Indiana County and the surrounding region. The American Heart Association also praised the hospital’s efforts to improve patient outcomes and reduce deaths from stroke.
