A Leechburg woman will face charges of criminal homicide and aggravated assault for allegedly stabbing her mother.
Court documents show 37-year-old Menqui “Mona” Zhang had charges held for court at a preliminary hearing in Armstrong County yesterday. The charges stemmed from an incident on June 28th where police were called out to a home on Schenley Road in Gilpin and found 79-year-old Rosalind Cooper dead. Stab wounds were found all over her body. Troopers said that Zhang had barricaded herself in her home and threatened to kill officers if they entered. She surrendered in the early morning of June 29th
A trial date has not been set.
