An Aultman man charged in connection with a standoff with police on July 8th is due in district court today for a preliminary hearing.
State police had charged 73-year-old Harry Lloyd with 12 felony counts and four misdemeanor counts, including eight felony counts of aggravated assault, two felony counts each of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and assault of a law enforcement officer along with two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment and single misdemeanor counts of possession of a weapon and possession of an instrument of crime.
An affidavit of probable cause said Police were sent to Aultman after being contacted by family members and county crisis responders saying that he was trying to hurt himself. Troopers established a perimeter at 6:21 PM. One trooper found Lloyd behind a bedroom door in the basement and started to talk, but Lloyd reportedly fired a shot through the closed door near the trooper. He surrendered early Thursday morning after nearly eight hours and was taken into custody by members of the State Police SERT team at 3:10 AM. No injuries were reported in the incident.
