A New Kensington man is spending time behind bars for assaulting a police officer.
Forty-four-year-old Luther Boyd has been sentenced to up to five years in prison. Boyd attacked officers in April of last year as they tried to take him into custody over a different assault report from months earlier. One officer was hurt in the incident.
Boyd will be required to serve at least 22 months.
