At the Region 7 Senior Legion playoffs at Claysburg-Kimmel yesterday, Connor James belted a dramatic two-run walk-off home run to lead Homer City Post 493 to a 4-3 win over Bedford. The Bearcats had led 2-0 in the top of the seventh but Bedford rallied to take a 3-2 lead. Undaunted, Homer City staged a rally of its own, culminating with the home run by James.
Shane McHugh had two hits for Post 493 and Brayden Rado scored two runs.
Post 493 will play Phillipsburg, an 8-3 winner over Lower Burrell, at 4:05 this afternoon.
In other tournament action, Latrobe scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat St. Michael, 5-2. Host Claysburg topped Bushy Run, 11-5.
