A status conference for the upcoming murder trial of 21-year-old Robert Jack has been moved from this Tuesday to October 13th in Westmoreland County Court. Jack is the admitted gunman who shot and killed 71-year-old Alice Robson at her Saint Clair Township home along Furnace Lane, outside of New Florence, in December 0f 2023.
The victim’s daughter, Melissa Fox-Beacom and accomplice Matthew Bates have already been convicted of the murder and sentenced to life in prison. Both are appealing their convictions, claiming Jack was an out-of-control killer and they could do nothing to stop him.
Robson’s body was found partially buried beneath her back porch. She was reportedly killed in a custody dispute over her daughter’s disabled grandson.
