Storms struck Indiana County again on Saturday, with firefighters and electric utilities answering numerous calls.
The dispatches included a tree fire along Cheese Run Road in Armstrong Township, traffic control on Route 286 in Young Township, a pumping detail on Old Route 119 South in Center Township, an accident on Route 119 North in Rayne Township, and numerous pumping details and reports of multiple roads flooded throughout the northern Indiana County area.
Penelec reported about 12-hundred customers still without power as of early Sunday morning, with an area stretching from the Plumville vicinity to Dayton in Armstrong County having around 700 of them, and Creekside just under 300. Other smaller outages were reported in Glen Campbell, Hillsdale, Cherry Tree, Rossiter, Commodore, Clymer, and Saltsburg.
REA’s outage map showed just over 13-hundred without electricity. The largest outages were in Washington Township, South Mahoning Township, Creekside, and Rayne Township.
