State Representatives and Senators from Indiana, Armstrong and Westmoreland Counties have announced over $6.75 million in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grants for five projects.
In Indiana County, the Commissioners received $250,000 for the Downtown Indiana redevelopment project for renovation activities in the 600 block of Philadelphia Street. PGT trucking also received $1 million for the training, office building and cargo securement building along with related amenities for the Blairsville Training Center.
In Armstrong County, Armstrong County Memorial Hospital received $1.25 million to complete phase three of the hospital’s electrical infrastructure upgrade. In Westmoreland County, the county’s Industrial Development Corporation received $750,000 for the renovations for a property in the 700 block of 5th Avenue in New Kensington. The RIDC Southwestern Pennsylvania Growth Fund also received $3.5 million for the New Kensington Manufacturing Park for upgrades and site prep.
In a statement, Senator Joe Pittman said that he was happy to support these projects, as they will “help build upon our infrastructure and improve area assets for local residents and visitors to benefit from for years to come.”
