The Altoona Curve will receive $1.9 million in RACP grant money for upgrades to Peoples Natural Gas Field.
Team owners Diamond Baseball Holdings plan on removing the current playing field, excavate beneath the field and complete the replacement of irrigation and drainage systems. The money will be used to offset the costs of sod and materials needed to replace the field and the labor costs associated with installing the new surface.
No word yet on when the project will start.
