Ruth Elaine (Wagner) Nichol, died Thursday, July 16, 2026 at her home. Born on September 18, 1956 in Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Marie (Cochran) Wagner, Ruth was the wife of the late Sam David Nichol.
She graduated from Penns Manor High School in 1974 and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from Hagerstown Business College.
Ruth was a devoted member of Summit Church in Indiana, where her faith was an important part of her life. She also cherished the friendships she made as a member of My Happy Place Yoga Friends and Warm Up America Knitting Group. She enjoyed spending her time knitting, crocheting, and reading. She loved attending craft shows and music festivals. Ruth looked forward to taking bus trips, embracing every opportunity to travel to make new memories.
Ruth is survived by her son: Travis A. Nichol (Amanda), of Clymer; her sister: Irene Coryea; her aunt and uncles: Thelma Cochran, Harry Cochran, and John Cochran. She will be missed by her brothers and sisters in law: Ralph (Pam) Nichol, Carl (Murvel) Nichol, Donna May Nichol, Janet Nichol, Delmont (Joanne) Nichol, Helen (Larry) Abrams, Larry (Brenda) Nichol, Lester (Tammy) Nichol, Sandra (Phil) Morris, and Raymond Nichol.
In addition to her parents; Ruth was preceded in death by her husband in 2011; and her daughter: Shannon Nichol; her twin sister: Bertha Mae Wagner; her niece: Christine Valenti; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
