Pennsylvania U.S. Senator Dave McCormick has announced an Indiana County company will be part of $10 billion in new investments at the Pennsylvania Defense and Innovation Summit.
The summit at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle advanced President Donald Trump’s vision of “peace through strength”. More than 30 individual announcements were made to advance American shipbuilding, munitions, space industry, innovation and emerging technologies like A.I. and Robotics. More than 1500 meetings were held over the two-day conference.
In a statement, McCormick said that Pennsylvania’s defense legacy has resulted in the $10 billion in investments and supporting more than 4000 jobs for Pennsylvania workers.
Firepoint Energy of Tunnelton is expected to receive $170 million to $2 billion for their pilot facility to convert waste coal into synthetic jet fuel, power and critical materials. Testing shows 12 of the 13 minerals sought by the Department of War are present in the feedstock.
