Altoona’s Kyle Robinson scattered seven hits over six innings and eight of the nine Curve batters had a hit in a 5-1 win over Richmond on Saturday night.
Robinson walked three and struck out six in becoming the third Curve starter this week to go at least six innings. He won his first Altoona game in his second start. Robinson was acquired from the Athletics in the Alika Williams trade in May and promoted to Double-A after making seven starts for High-A Greensboro.
Duce Gourson’s two-run home run put the Curve ahead for good in the first inning, and they scored twice more in the second inning on Titus Dumitru’s two-run double, his second of the game. Shane Polanco singled in the fifth run in the third.
Dumitru, Polanco, and Shalin Polanco each had two hits for the Curve.
The series concludes this afternoon at Peoples Natural Gas Field, and the Curve then enters the All-Star break before returning to action on Friday at Reading.
