The Penguins have signed 20-year-old defenseman Tomas Galvas to a three-year entry-level contract, with a salary cap hit of $1,007,500 according to the tracking site Puckpedia.com.
Galvas is a 5-10, 168-pound offensive defenseman from Czechia. He’s a left-handed shooter who was taken in the second round of the NHL Draft last month, and is the first of this year’s draft choices to sign.
Penguins vice president of player personnel Wes Clark said at the draft that Galvas will likely play for Bili Tygri Liberec in Czechia this coming season.
