A man who works as a corrections officer at the Armstrong County Jail is accused of seriously injuring his newborn baby.
Court documents show Jakob Hankey is being held at the Indiana County Jail on counts including aggravated assault. State police say Hankey initially told 9-1-1 operators his six-week-old daughter fell from his arms back on June 19th before admitting to troopers he squeezed her, dropped her and hit her in the head before calling for help.
Authorities say the infant was flown to UPMC Children’s Hospitals and was left with severe brain injuries.
