Five fire departments were sent out for a fire at an apartment attached to a home in Pine Township yesterday.
Crews from Pine Township, Cherryhill Township, Clymer, Spangler and Hope fire companies were dispatched at 1:21 in the afternoon. Pine Township fire officials said that it was initially reported that someone was trapped in the apartment, but they got out by the time crews arrived. The resident of the apartment had minor burns to the face and head and was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
While the exact cause has not been named, officials say the fire may have been electrical in nature and not suspicious in nature. The apartment is a total loss, but the home it was attached to only took on smoke and water damage.
