State Police have released some statistics from the Independence Day driving enforcement period.
State Police with Troop A Indiana report that between July 3rd and 5th, officers conducted 215 traffic stops. Six of those stops resulted in DUI arrests.
Officers issued 178 citations and 145 written warnings. 94 of the citations issued were for speeding, with one seatbelt citation and 5 seatbelt warnings. There were 83 other citations.
Police investigated 4 crashes over the weekend, with one of them being a hit-and-run investigation. None of the crashes were fatal or DUI-related.
These statistics only reflect the results of enforcement by the Indiana Barracks of Troop A. More results from the rest of Troop A and the state should be released soon.
