Tuesday night, Homer City Borough Council approved applying for some grants for stormwater drainage projects.
The application is for $2.9 million from the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Multimodal program. The money will be used for stormwater infrastructure improvements.
Borough Manager Tonya Weller also said she was looking into grant opportunities for non-paved alleys in the borough. More research needs to be done before an application can be submitted.
Borough Council also welcomed Chris Sasala to his first meeting as a new council member. He takes over for Rob Walbeck, who resigned his position last month.
