Most of Indiana County and all of Armstrong County remain under a heat advisory today.
Downgrading from the Extreme Heat Warning that was in place for most of the week, the heat advisory will run until 8:00 tonight. Temperatures are expected to get up to 88 degrees today, and a heavy thunderstorm is possible this afternoon, but the heat index is expected to get up to 105 degrees, which could trigger heat-related illnesses. People are advised to stay hydrated, if you are not going out, stay in an air-conditioned environment and out of the sun, and check on neighbors and relatives.
