State and local law enforcement agencies are reminding the public to plan ahead and stay safe during Friday’s America 250 Parade in downtown Indiana.
The Pennsylvania State Police, Indiana Borough Police, Indiana County Sheriff’s Office, IUP Police, and Blairsville Borough Police say that officers will have a strong presence throughout the celebration. Officials encourage attendees to arrive early, stay hydrated, expect heavy traffic and road closures beginning at 4 p.m., and report any suspicious activity immediately.
Public restrooms will be available at IRMC Park, with special event parking at the Indiana Borough Parking Garage and accessible parking along the 900 block of Philadelphia Street.
Police say the parade is expected to be the largest event of its kind ever held in Indiana.
