UPDATE AT 10:10 PM: State Police have issued a statement saying the Troop A Major Case team is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Indiana Borough. Troopers say that Indiana Borough Police Officers were investigating a domestic disturbance when the shooting happened. State police were then called in to take over.
Troopers say there is no threat to the public. No other information has been released, but they will have more information as the investigation continues.
WHAT WAS FIRST REPORTED:
Indiana Borough Police were reportedly involved in a shooting Sunday night.
A message to the IUP community was sent at 7:24 PM said the shooting involved Indiana Borough Police and that there was no danger to the community. Further details have not been released.
Police and the Indiana County District Attorney’s office are investigating. As soon as we have more information, we will pass it along to you.
