The Reading Fightin’ Phils hit six home runs Saturday as they won their third straight game at Altoona, 14-5 at Peoples Natural Gas Field.
Reading scored two runs on Curve starter Peyton Stumbo on run-scoring singles in the top of the first. They then added three solo home runs, two in the second inning and one in the fifth.
Altoona’s Will Taylor beat out a bunt in the second inning, scoring Jack Brannigan, who had earlier doubled, and the Curve’s Lonnie White, Jr. drove in another run with a double in the sixth to make it 6-2, but Reading broke the game open further with a seven-run eighth, highlighted by two more home runs.
White, Taylor, and Matt King all had two hits for Altoona.
The Curve will send Matt Ager to the mound hoping for a win and a split of the series this afternoon at one o’clock.
