One Sheetz store in our area is getting ready to shut down for major renovations as another location opens.
Sheetz’s Strategic Affairs and Communications Leader Nick Ruffner said that the store at the corner of Ben Franklin and Warren Roads will shut down Sunday, July 12th for a rebuild project, with the goal of reopening in late December. The new store will be about 6100 square feet inside and will be capable of fueling 12 vehicles at once. The rebuilt site will also include enhanced restaurant and convenience features. One part of the store that will go away, according to plans approved by the White Township Planning Commission is the on-site car wash.
The location that has just reopened was the Sheetz in Downtown Blairsville. That location was closed for the last few months for the renovation project. The new facility will have the ability to fuel cars with Ethanol and Unleaded 88, like its affiliate convenience store on Route 22.
There is no new information available on the project to upgrade the Sheetz at 4th and Philadelphia Streets in Indiana Borough. Ruffner said it is still too early in the process to provide any updates. Indiana Borough Council in February granted preliminary approval for the project to move the store to the former Rite Aid Pharmacy site.
