McKeesport High School head football coach Matt Miller is now officially resigned.
The school board voted to accept his resignation during a contentious special meeting yesterday. Former NFL linebacker and McKeesport football great Brandon Short called for Miller to step down after an assistant on his staff and the head of the football booster program testified as character witnesses for Isaac Smith, the young man convicted of murdering Short’s daughter, Karli, back in 2021.
Short said Miller’s silence on that situation and a lack of condolences from him make it appear that the McKeesport program supports his daughter’s killer.
