A former manager of the First Commonwealth Bank branch in Derry Borough is accused of stealing a total of more than $31,000 from six accounts belonging to deceased customers.
Court documents show 43-year-old Jeri Mains of Derry is facing six counts each of forgery, theft by unlawful taking-movable property, theft by unlawful taking-unmovable property and receiving stolen property for incidents between April 1st and May 26th at the bank on South Chestnut Street. Police in Derry were notified by First Commonwealth on June 15th after the bank had conducted its own investigation. The bank has reimbursed the estates of all affected customers.
Mains is free on $20,000 bond and is due in front of District Judge Kelly Tua Hammers on July 2nd for a preliminary hearing.
