The trailer will provide storage for all drone-related equipment, a continual charging platform and three large visual display screens for on-scene incident command. The new unit also provides wireless and satellite connectivity for communication with other incident command platforms and individual users.
EMA director Tom Stutzman called the new trailer a great addition to the agency’s fleet, as drones have in the past were launched from a mixed platform of vehicles, many without the ability of continual flight beyond the first hour due to battery recharging capabilities. The new unit will be ready for deployment in the next few days.
